Since 1994, Professor Huixian Chen and Dr. Pingping Li have led Qigong trips to China. In Spring 2018, another exciting journey will present you with a unique opportunity to fully immerse yourself in studying Qigong theory while developing your personal practice and spiritual growth. At the same time, our trip will be punctuated by travels to some of China’s most amazing and beautiful sights.

As students of Qigong, we will start each day with a Qigong practice session. Additionally, Prof. Chen and Pingping will teach Chinese Essence Qigong while in Beijing.
Our in-depth discovery of China begins in Beijing, the capital of China. We will start our journey with 5 days of study in the suburbs of Beijing. The hotel is located nearby Goose Lake. After the lectures, we will visit the Great Wall, one of the world wonders; the Summer Palace, one of the loveliest imperial parks in China; the Forbidden City, the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of Qing dynasty, and Tiananmen Square.
WUDANG MOUNTAINS ~~
Enroute to the Wudang Mountains, we will also visit the famous Yellow Crane Tower, which was built in the late 1800s.
Wudang Mountains are located in Shiyan city, Hubei Province (Northern Central China). The Wudang Mountains stretch for 800 miles of speculator scenery with secluded valleys and peaks. It is renowned for its magnificent ancient building complex and appealing natural landscape. The mountains are famous for Daoism and the practice of Taiji. We will start the tour with a boat ride on Taiji Lake, then we will visit the famous Golden Palace, South Rock Palace, and Purple Cloud Palace.
DAZU ROCK CARVINGS ~~
Located in the southeast of the Sichuan Basin, the Dazu Rock Carvings are a series of sculptures and carvings, dating back as far as the 7th century AD. Depicting and influenced by Buddhist, Daoist and Confucian beliefs, they are not only rich in content but also carved with marvelous technique. They skillfully combine the scientific principles of mechanics, optics, and clairvoyance with statues themselves and landform. The Dazu Rock Carvings are reputed as the “Artistic Palace of the Tang and Song Dynasties”.
YANGTZI RIVER CRUISE ~~
The Yangtzi River, the longest river in China, is rich in breathtaking scenery and diverse culture. Stretching from a land of remote mountains and arid plains, it winds its way through canyon gorges to fertile regions of connecting lakes and waterways. Boarding in Chongqing, we will enjoy a 4-day cruise, sail through the Yangtze River, and disembark at Yichang city. (Please see Itinerary document for details)
Shanghai is the largest economic and trade center in China, and one of China’s cultural centers. It retains the last vestiges of China’s unusual colonial past. The architecture along the Bund is a living museum of the colonial history of the 1800s. We will be visiting the Jade Buddha Temple, Chenghuang Bazaar and a silk making factory in Shanghai.
